In My Solitude

Artist Statement

“In My Solitude” is a project that combines fashion photography with personal narrative. The images explore my emotional and psychological state from when I felt isolated during quarantine. The entire series is shot in my childhood bedroom, where I spent quarantine, which is stylized to feel barren, confining and unsettling.

The images explore the pain that can be felt when left alone with intrusive thoughts. Mental health plays a huge role in feeling this way when alone, so I hope to represent the struggle that is often fought behind closed doors or not talked about.

Special thanks to Ben Rogovin (@benrogovin) for styling the last look, with the designs of Isabel Yagerman (@irydesigns)– I’m so happy we could collaborate. Thank you to Jessica Wynne and Brian Emery for your guidance and generosity, my thesis would not be what it is without you both. Lastly, thank you to everyone who has helped me grow and find happiness in the last year and a half.
